Deli Cooked Food Supervisor

Salary £23,000-£26,000 year

Crombies of Edinburgh is an award winning butcher and Deli shop. Our Deli has a hot counter breakfast and lunch take away, prepared in our own kitchens. Also a selection of our own homemade, chilled, pre-packed pies, cold meats, filled rolls, salads, soups, etc. as well as a fine selection of biscuits and cakes.



This position provides an excellent opportunity for someone who loves working with people and is passionate about artisan food and drink. The role is to provide top quality customer service at our Shop and organise available staff to ensure high standards of preparation to maintain stock levels and ensure a constant work flow.

  • The successful candidate must have:

- experience in working in busy food customer facing environments processing cash and card payments

- experience in the preparation of ready to eat foods

- experience of supporting and/or managing junior team members

- a positive ‘can do’ attitude and ability to work alone and within a team

- a proactive approach to their work and good initiative

  • We are particularly interested in candidates with:

-  a take away food background

- a food production background



  • Serving customers of all ages and backgrounds with competence, confidence and warmth
  • Following company policies and completing all necessary HACCP form filling and ensuring all junior staff do likewise.
  • Compliance with all legal requirements including health and safety and food hygiene
  • Controlling and maintaining display, selling and labelling of products
  • Controlling stock levels including purchasing and pricing as required
  • Keeping the shop clean and tidy at all times
  • Handling cash and processing card payments quickly and accurately
  • Fulfilling end of day till procedures and weekend cashing up
  • Dealing with customer complaints
  • Reporting to management with issues and possible solutions​

Part-Time Cooked Food Assistant / Relief Till operator  £8.25hr

Crombies Of Edinburgh have an opportunity for a bright flexible person to help cover their busy cooked food department and help cover days off on the checkout.  The applicant must be flexible to change work times and help the team reach maximum efficiency.

Tuesday 9am – 5pm

Thursday 9am – 2pm

Friday 9am – 3pm

Saturday 7am – 11am  -  Total 22hrs

Crombies of Edinburgh pay above the minimum wage at £8.25 per hour with perks and pension available. 

Applicants must be experienced in food handling, cash handling, have a food hygiene certificate and have excellent customer service skills.  Applicants should understand and speak English fluently.
